In Arizona
TEL's official location page lists two Arizona offices. The City of Chandler provides the local workforce and facility figures below.
- Chandler: TEL's location page calls its office at 2545 W. Frye Rd., Suite 1, Chandler, AZ 85224 the Phoenix office.
- North Phoenix: A second office is listed at 23751 N. 23rd Ave., Suite 190, Phoenix, AZ 85085.
- People and space: The city's August 2026 brochure describes a leased 36,000-square-foot Price Corridor facility with more than 250 employees, primarily in sales and field service. Those figures describe Chandler.
- History: TEL's timeline records Tokyo Electron Phoenix Laboratories being established in 1996 and Tokyo Electron Arizona in 1998. Its 2000 corporate directory listed them in Tempe and Gilbert. These are historical group companies, not opening dates for the current offices.
The city's brochure says TEL has been expanding its Chandler operations to serve new customers in the region. It names no project, cost or date.
Role in AI and chips
Chandler's equipment sales and field service give TEL a local role supporting the fabrication-equipment part of the chip supply chain.
Worldwide supplier relationship: Intel recognized Tokyo Electron in its 2026 EPIC supplier awards.
AI in equipment support: TEL expanded its NVIDIA collaboration on maintenance and AI troubleshooting in July 2026. This is a worldwide program.
Controversies and Issues
Taiwan subsidiary: TEL reported that in April 2026 a Taiwan court fined its Taiwan subsidiary NT$150 million for not sufficiently supervising a former employee involved in a case over a customer's confidential information. The sentence was suspended for three years, subject to payments of NT$100 million to the customer and NT$50 million to the government. TEL said the investigation and judgment found no organizational involvement by TEL or TEL Taiwan and no external information leak.
Reuters reported in May that the Taiwan unit said it would not appeal in the trade-secrets case involving TSMC.
