American Express Information Processing Center

American Express's long-time Phoenix data center is the Information Processing Center at 3151 W. Behrend Drive in Deer Valley, a three-story building of about 300,000 square feet. American Express sold the building and leased it back in 2005, and Aligned Data Centers has owned it since September 2022.

Operating data center in 3151 W Behrend Dr, Phoenix. Operated by American Express.

The short version

City permits show American Express still running the building in 2024 and 2025, and the company's annual report filed in February 2026 lists data centers in Phoenix. We found no public record from 2026 that names this building, so its status today is not confirmed. American Express is building a new data center at Desert Ridge, and Aligned plans a data center campus of its own on the Behrend Drive property.

Our own notes

These remarks are Arizona AI's own. They say how this record is counted or what we could not find, so there is no outside page to link.

The permit map records the fire pump work as complete on September 5, 2025, the latest city record for the building that Arizona AI found. Arizona AI found no renewal of that permit in the city's records, and no city permit for the building dated 2026. Arizona AI lists this data center as operating because city permits show American Express running it through 2025, the company's latest annual report lists data centers in Phoenix, and its new Phoenix data center was still under construction when we checked. Arizona AI found no public record from 2026 that names this building and no statement from American Express about it, so its status today is not confirmed. The city permits listed here show American Express using the data center building through 2025. The demolition permits are for the office buildings next to it. Arizona AI found no public source for the data center's power capacity. Arizona AI lists American Express's new data center on the page American Express Phoenix Data Center Expansion, and Aligned's plans for the property on the page Aligned Phoenix - Behrend Drive (PHX-08).
