Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

TSMCPhoenix, AZOnsite

This engineer will support TSMC Arizona’s EHS department by developing ISO-aligned environmental and workplace safety management programs and promoting a strong safety culture across the fab. Responsibilities include evaluating hazards, reviewing equipment and manufacturing processes, tracking corrective actions, overseeing waste management, and advising teams on regulatory and technical matters. The position also contributes to contractor safety programs, employee training, safety committees, emergency response activities, and efforts to reduce the facility’s environmental impact. The work spans indoor and outdoor areas throughout the site and involves collaboration with manufacturing, facilities, contractors, suppliers, and other departments. It suits an experienced EHS professional with an engineering or science background, strong communication skills, and experience in regulated or chemically intensive manufacturing environments.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree requiredPreference for engineering or science background including occupational Safety, chemical engineering or chemistry, mechanical engineering, environmental science and emergency response/management3-5+ years experience in environmental engineering, safety engineering, or related experience and regulatory compliance practiceExperience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or other chemically intensive manufacturing industries preferredAbility to effectively work independently and as a team player to resolve ESH issuesKnowledge of current safety and loss control practicesAbility to apply logical or scientific thinking principles to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusionsAbility to read and understand engineering plans and specificationsEffective written and verbal communication across functional departments and with external customers, contractors, and suppliers
