Manager - Product Security

This position sits within Microchip’s Product Security Office and reports to its head, supporting the company-wide effort to build secure and compliant products. The manager will create practical governance frameworks, lifecycle checkpoints, metrics, and escalation processes that engineering and business teams can consistently apply. Responsibilities include overseeing PSIRT and vulnerability-management practices, guiding threat assessments, interpreting global cybersecurity regulations, and supporting readiness for requirements such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act. The role also involves collaboration with quality, legal, engineering, customer-facing groups, external assessors, and industry organizations. It is well suited to an experienced product security leader who can influence distributed teams, connect technical work with regulatory expectations, and communicate effectively with executives and specialists.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline12.5+ years in cybersecurity, product security, embedded security, or a related field5+ years leading product security governance, secure development, or regulatory-readiness programs3+ years driving cross-functional initiatives in a leadership or senior roleKnowledge of embedded products, hardware, firmware, software, cryptography, and product lifecyclesExperience with cybersecurity regulations, threat modeling, vulnerability management, PSIRT, and relevant industry frameworks
