Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Simulations

AxonScottsdale, AZ

This engineer will develop and maintain detailed models for mechanical parts and complex electro-mechanical systems, analyzing conditions such as impact, vibration, fatigue, shock, and drops. They will work with design, manufacturing, testing, quality, and other engineering groups to identify risks and improve product durability, performance, and manufacturability. The position also involves correlating simulations with laboratory results, investigating reliability problems, and communicating recommendations to technical and leadership audiences. The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanical analyst who can connect advanced simulation methods with practical product design decisions. Experience with optimization, thermal-fluid or multiphysics analysis, scripting, and ruggedized products would be valuable.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fieldAt least 8 years of mechanical simulation experience in product developmentAdvanced proficiency with ANSYS, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, or comparable toolsExpertise in nonlinear mechanics, fatigue, impact, vibration, and failure analysisExperience validating simulation models against physical testingStrong cross-functional communication and mechanical design skills
