Snr Process Engineer - Early Career (Fall 2026)

This engineer will work within ASM’s semiconductor process development function, creating and refining deposition and treatment processes for logic, memory, analog, power, and MEMS devices. The position involves designing experiments, applying DOE and response-surface methods, analyzing materials and electrical data, and resolving equipment or process issues hands-on. The engineer will also support customer demonstrations, product transfers, field training, technical publications, and intellectual property development, with limited travel to remote sites. Candidates should be recent or upcoming graduates with advanced training in a relevant engineering or physical science discipline and exposure to thin-film processing and characterization. It is suited to technically curious researchers who can solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Master’s or PhD in chemical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or a related fieldGraduating in 2026 or graduated within the past two years, with 0–2 years of professional experienceExperience with thin-film processes such as ALD, CVD, PECVD, epitaxy, oxidation, or curingFamiliarity with materials characterization methods including XPS, SIMS, XRD, TEM, SEM, AFM, or ellipsometryExperience designing experiments and interpreting process or materials data using DOE or RSMWillingness to troubleshoot equipment hands-on and travel up to 10%
