The Chief Engineer will provide technical direction and execution leadership for SM-6 Transition to Production activities across integrated product teams and supporting organizations. This person will shape product strategy, manage technical risks, guide system upgrades, resolve cross-functional issues, and maintain alignment with customers, factories, subcontractors, and senior leadership. The position also oversees engineering team performance, supports production improvement efforts such as failure reviews and corrective actions, and contributes to future business and product roadmaps. It is suited to an experienced systems or chief engineer with a strong background in complex defense products across design, integration, verification, and manufacturing. The role is fully onsite in Tucson and requires U.S. citizenship plus an active Secret clearance before starting.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in system development, design, verification, and productionProven leadership of engineering teams and experience managing multi-million-dollar annual budgetsDeep expertise in modular systems architectures, product lines, and complex system integration across full lifecycleActive Secret-level DoD security clearance with U.S. citizenship required before start dateSenior-level technical communication and ability to serve as primary interface with Navy and internal leadershipExperience with engineering risk management, failure analysis, and continuous improvement processes
