Open role
Senior CPU Performance Architect
This architect will guide CPU microarchitecture from early exploration through RTL and silicon, assessing tradeoffs and developing specifications that meet demanding performance, power, and scalability goals. The work sits within Intel’s Silicon and Platform Engineering organization and involves partnering with architecture, design, verification, validation, and software teams. Key activities include workload-based modeling, bottleneck analysis, feature definition, and debugging mismatches between simulations, RTL, and measured silicon behavior. The position suits an experienced CPU specialist with deep knowledge of at least one major core domain and extensive experience with cycle-accurate C++ simulators. Candidates should also be comfortable with RTL analysis, assembly-based testing, object-oriented programming, and solving complex microarchitectural problems.
