Senior Electrical Engineer I

Based in Scottsdale and reporting to the Director of Engineering, this engineer will support research and development for Axon Robotics’ next-generation UAV and UGV platforms. The work includes creating schematics and multilayer PCB designs, building prototypes, developing custom test equipment, and validating boards, assemblies, batteries, and motors. The engineer will also help bring up new hardware with firmware and software teams and address production issues such as component availability and design changes. The position suits an experienced electronics designer who enjoys practical lab work, embedded systems, and solving complex problems in compact, battery-powered products. Candidates with interests in robotics, motor control, EMC compliance, embedded Linux, and regulatory certification will be especially well aligned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent6+ years of electronics design experience with densely populated, battery-powered embedded systemsProficiency in multi-layer PCB layouts and/or rigid-flex designs using Altium Designer or Cadence OrCADStrong hands-on skills: board assembly, oscilloscope/DMM/spectrum analyzer operation, component testingKnowledge of analog and digital electronics, EMC/signal integrity, and programming in C or PythonPassion for drones and robotics with awareness of BLDC motors and motor controllers preferred
