Engineer, Field Service- "I & II"

This position supports ASM’s semiconductor manufacturing equipment in demanding customer fab environments, helping keep production tools reliable, safe, and productive. Engineers will diagnose electrical, mechanical, process, and equipment issues, perform repairs and installations, document service activity, and contribute to procedure and performance improvements. Engineer II candidates will additionally lead complex investigations, mentor junior staff, analyze equipment data, and communicate field findings to engineering and design teams. The role is part of ASM’s global service and sustaining organization and includes several day or night shift options. It suits engineers with electromechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and an interest in semiconductor capital equipment and customer-facing field work.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical engineering, or a related discipline1–3 years of relevant technical experience for Engineer I; 4+ years or a qualifying master’s degree for Engineer IIExperience with field service, semiconductor equipment, or OEM capital equipmentAbility to read electronic and electromechanical schematics and use structured troubleshooting methodsKnowledge of cleanroom, semiconductor, and equipment safety practicesWillingness to work assigned shifts and travel domestically and internationally at least 75%
