Senior Engineering Technician I, Equipment

This technician joins the EPI equipment team in Phoenix and helps keep two ASM epitaxy toolsets reliable, safe, and production-ready. The work spans mechanical, electrical, software, vacuum, thermal, and gas delivery systems, with close attention to how equipment performance affects semiconductor processes. The technician documents escalations, leads structured root-cause investigations, addresses recurring alarms, and works with engineering, process, service, and production partners on corrective actions. The position also contributes to audits, procedures, maintenance records, retrofit planning, and mentoring less-experienced technicians. It suits someone with semiconductor equipment experience or relevant technical education who is comfortable troubleshooting independently in a fast-paced factory and communicating findings clearly.

Requirements

Technical school, BS with 0–1 years’ experience, or 5+ years of relevant equipment experienceStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in semiconductor manufacturingExperience with vacuum, thermal, and gas delivery systemsClear technical documentation and escalation communication skillsCommitment to safety, compliance, and procedural disciplineAbility to work independently and use computer-based tracking tools
