Principal Mechanical Engineer, Design

This engineer works within Raytheon’s Mechanical Design organization to develop components, assemblies, and end items from requirements definition through production and deployment. Responsibilities include mechanical design, CAD and technical data package development, GD&T and tolerance analysis, design reviews, trade studies, and application of structural, thermal, dynamic, and reliability findings. The role also provides technical direction to engineers, supports manufacturing and suppliers, and helps resolve integration, quality, obsolescence, and production issues across domestic and international programs. It is an onsite Tucson position with potential travel to customer, supplier, and Raytheon locations. The opportunity suits an experienced aerospace or defense mechanical engineer who can lead multidisciplinary development efforts while remaining engaged in detailed design and producibility.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 8+ years relevant experience, or Advanced degree with 5+ years experienceTechnical leadership experience across mechanical product development lifecycle including requirements, design, integration, and testProficiency with CREO or equivalent CAD tools and GD&T applicationExperience creating and managing mechanical technical data packages in production environmentsActive or obtainable DoD Secret level security clearance and U.S. citizenshipExperience with military/aerospace mechanical products and supplier collaboration
