Sr HWIL Software Engineer

This engineer works within Raytheon’s Effectors Center to create and maintain software for missile flight simulators used before live flight testing. Responsibilities include analyzing user and system needs, designing software and build processes, integrating code in real-time environments, and supporting configuration and quality practices. The position involves close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams and may include control modeling, technical documentation, and mentoring on development tools and standards. It suits an experienced software engineer with strong C++ and embedded or real-time systems knowledge who can work onsite in Tucson and contribute in a security-cleared defense environment. U.S. citizenship and an active or obtainable Secret clearance are required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM field with minimum 5 years relevant experienceProficiency in C++ with object-oriented programmingExperience in at least two of: Embedded Software, Embedded Security, RTOS (Linux, VxWorks), or Software Architecture DesignActive and transferable Secret-level DoD security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Strong technical communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skillsExperience with real-time systems, control modeling, or test equipment troubleshooting
