Automation Specialist

This position is responsible for managing safety protocols and standards for robotic and automated systems at RTX's Tucson facility. The successful candidate will work within the Environment, Health & Safety department, collaborating with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate safety into robotic system designs and workflows. Key responsibilities include conducting hazard analyses, developing safety procedures, leading incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations like OSHA and EPA. The role requires deep expertise in robotic safety standards such as ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218. This position suits experienced EHS professionals or safety engineers with a background in automation and robotics who are comfortable with hands-on technical work and cross-functional collaboration. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks while mentoring junior staff and staying current with evolving safety standards.
