Sr Electrical Engineer I

This engineer will create and test densely integrated mixed-signal hardware, including power systems, microcontrollers, communications interfaces, batteries, RF components, and high-voltage circuitry. The position involves schematic development, PCB layout collaboration, laboratory bring-up, troubleshooting, simulation, compliance support, and preparation of release documentation. Working within the TASER Electrical Engineering organization, the engineer will help shape system architecture and coordinate hardware development across the product lifecycle. The role also includes mentoring less-experienced engineers and improving design-review and verification practices. It suits an experienced hands-on electrical engineer who can independently lead complex embedded hardware projects while working effectively with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline6+ years designing embedded electronics with focus on power control, delivery systems, and densely packed designsExpertise in switch-mode and high-voltage power supply design with hands-on lab characterizationProficient in schematic design tools (OrCAD/Cadence) and PCB layout collaborationStrong experience with electronics bring-up, debugging, and testing using lab instrumentsDemonstrated expertise in microcontrollers, communication interfaces, EMI/ESD protection, and cross-functional collaboration
