Staff Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Engineer

This engineer will own CMP module strategy and execution from early process development through high-volume manufacturing for multiple advanced technology nodes. The position sits within Intel Foundry’s Manufacturing Development Customer Engineering organization, helping connect technology teams, factories, customers, suppliers, and other process disciplines. Responsibilities include resolving complex yield and manufacturing problems, improving process capability, and establishing common practices across technology generations. The engineer will also guide supplier collaborations, support customer-focused technology delivery, and mentor less experienced engineers. It is well suited to an experienced semiconductor process professional with deep hands-on CMP expertise, strong problem-solving ability, and the influence to lead work across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a relevant engineering, materials science, physics, or related field5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing or process/technology development3+ years of hands-on CMP process development, tuning, and characterizationExperience with CMP equipment platforms such as AMAT or EbaraKnowledge of CMP consumables including slurries, pads, conditioners, filters, and cleaning chemistriesPrevious semiconductor foundry experience
