Principal Spacecraft Concept & Mission Engineer Onsite

This engineer will join Raytheon’s Operations and Mission Analysis team within the Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture Directorate, supporting the Advanced Technology organization. Responsibilities include assessing spacecraft and mission feasibility, analyzing performance and trajectories, creating reusable mission-planning tools, and visualizing concepts using STK or comparable software. The position also contributes to software development, grid-enabled data analysis, technology maturation, customer coordination, and new program capture activities. It suits an experienced systems or mission engineer who can work across disciplines, build physics-based models, and independently investigate complex technical problems. An active Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required, and the work is performed onsite in Tucson, Arizona.

Requirements

STEM degree and typically 8+ years of relevant experienceActive transferable Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenshipExpertise in orbital mechanics, mission analysis, GNC, mission planning, or satellite technologyProgramming experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or C++Experience with system performance, CONOPS, modeling and simulation, or algorithmsPreferred familiarity with STK, Git, SLURM, optimization, and data analytics
