Principal Systems Architect, Communications Hardware (Remote Eligible | Relocation Assistance Available)

This founding hardware leadership position will establish system-level architecture, requirements, engineering practices, and validation strategies for compact, connected, battery-powered devices. The architect will guide cross-functional teams, resolve tradeoffs involving antennas, power, thermal performance, enclosures, cost, and size, and communicate major risks and decisions to senior stakeholders. The role also partners with external development and manufacturing organizations on design for production, certification, engineering builds, and ramp-up. It suits an experienced hardware systems leader who has delivered complex products to mass production and can operate across multiple engineering disciplines. The position is based around Axon hubs in Scottsdale, New York City, or Boston, with approximately 10–20% travel and possible case-by-case remote consideration.
