Principal Systems Engineer, Communications Hardware (Remote Eligible | Relocation Assistance Available)

This founding technical leadership role will establish the system architecture, requirements, verification strategy, and engineering standards for Axon 911 hardware products. The architect will guide cross-functional teams, resolve tradeoffs involving antennas, power, thermal performance, mechanics, cost, and size, and communicate major risks and decisions to program and executive leaders. The position also supports manufacturing partners, design-for-production activities, regulatory certification, and production ramp through mass manufacturing. It suits an experienced hardware systems leader who has delivered compact, connected, battery-powered products and can work deeply across multiple engineering disciplines. The role is based primarily at Axon hubs in Scottsdale, New York City, or Boston, with limited travel and case-by-case remote consideration.

Requirements

10+ years of hardware engineering experienceDeep expertise in at least two of EE, RF, or mechanical engineeringExperience owning architecture for complex integrated hardwareTrack record taking connected battery-powered products to mass productionKnowledge of RF integration, power, thermal, EMI/EMC, and enclosure designExperience with requirements, validation, certification, and manufacturing partners
