Senior Spacecraft Concept & Mission Engineer Onsite

This engineer will join Raytheon’s Operations and Mission Analysis team within the Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture Directorate, supporting exploratory space missions and advanced technology development. Responsibilities include assessing spacecraft and mission feasibility, building analysis tools and physics-based models, optimizing trajectories, analyzing large datasets, and presenting mission concepts through STK or comparable software. The position also involves collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, program leadership, and software developers to mature technologies and support mission planning applications. It offers opportunities to contribute to research and development, internal investment proposals, new program pursuits, and intellectual property. It suits an experienced aerospace or systems engineer who is comfortable with analytical programming, independent problem solving, and classified national security work.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant experienceExperience in orbital mechanics, mission analysis, mission planning, satellite technology, GNC, or systems designProficiency with Python, MATLAB, and/or C++ for physical-system modelingBackground in system performance, CONOPS, algorithms, signal processing, or modeling and simulationActive, transferable Top Secret U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenshipPreferred: STK, Git, SLURM, numerical optimization, vehicle design, or advanced STEM degree
