Mechanical Engineer II

This engineer will work within Axon’s product development organization to create next-generation devices that support public safety. Responsibilities include generating system and subsystem concepts, building proof-of-concept prototypes, and validating designs through finite element analysis, tolerance studies, and testing. The role partners with product management, electrical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and stakeholders across regions while balancing competing technical and product constraints. It suits a mechanical engineer who is comfortable taking ownership, presenting ideas clearly, and working both independently and within a fast-moving team. Candidates with hands-on experience in consumer or industrial hardware and a passion for meaningful, safety-focused technology may be particularly well matched.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experienceProficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD softwareKnowledge of manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, stamped metal, die-casting, and machiningStrong analytical skills including FEA, tolerance analysis, and prototype testingExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively while balancing competing design constraints
