Senior Specialist I, Purchasing

This position supports manufacturing continuity by overseeing direct-material purchasing, supplier commitments, expediting, and supply-risk responses. The specialist works across planning, engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and project teams on product transfers, new product introductions, ramp-ups, and other business priorities. Responsibilities also include supplier performance reviews, corrective actions, invoice issue resolution, inventory flexibility programs, and process improvements. The role includes mentoring junior buyers and contributing to sourcing, capacity planning, and business continuity efforts. It suits an experienced procurement or supply-chain professional who is comfortable with complex manufacturing environments, data analysis, supplier negotiations, and independent decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, engineering, or related fieldAt least 7 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply-chain experienceDirect-material purchasing experience in a manufacturing environmentAdvanced SAP or comparable ERP experience and strong Excel skillsExpertise in supplier management, risk mitigation, inventory planning, and corrective actionsStrong communication, analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership abilities
