Director, Process Engineer – Dry Etch

This director-level position sits within Intel Foundry’s Manufacturing Development and Customer Engineering organization and owns dry etch process performance across advanced technology nodes. The work spans plasma, reactive ion, atomic layer, conductor, dielectric, and related etch or post-treatment processes, with emphasis on making them robust for high-volume manufacturing. The engineer will design experiments, interpret metrology and manufacturing data, troubleshoot equipment and process problems, and lead corrective actions and process transfers. Success depends on close collaboration with integration, lithography, thin films, cleans, yield, defect, quality, factory, and equipment teams, as well as external suppliers. It suits an experienced semiconductor process leader who combines deep plasma etch expertise with strong execution, communication, data analysis, and ownership in a demanding fab environment.

Requirements

10+ years semiconductor industry experience with focus on dry etch process development and high-volume manufacturingMaster's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or ChemistryExtensive hands-on experience with dry etch equipment, recipe optimization, process characterization, and troubleshootingDemonstrated collaboration across process modules, integration teams, equipment engineering, yield, and defect metrologyAbility to work in dynamic fab environment, support urgent issues, and drive technical closure under schedule pressurePreferred: Advanced degree (PhD), experience with advanced CMOS technologies (GAA, scaled interconnect), and foundry or logic technology development background
