Senior Engineer I, Mechanical Engineering - Early Career (Fall 2026)

This engineer will work with ASM’s Epitaxy organization on new product development, equipment improvements, and technical problem solving for semiconductor manufacturing systems. Responsibilities include structural, thermal, and fluid analyses; Creo-based CAD and drawings; design documentation; failure analysis; and coordination of prototypes, testing, sourcing, and manufacturing transitions. The position may also involve project scheduling, design reviews, corrective actions, and travel to customer or supplier locations. It is designed for recent mechanical engineering graduates or candidates graduating in 2026, especially those with advanced study or project experience involving vacuum, reactors, gas delivery, cooling, pneumatics, or related complex systems. Candidates should be analytical, detail-focused communicators who can work effectively across disciplines and manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

Mechanical engineering degree; master’s preferred and PhD strongly preferredGraduating in Spring/Fall 2026 or graduated within the past two years with 0–2 years of experienceExperience designing complex mechanical systems through coursework or projectsProficiency with Creo Parametric, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and ANSI Y14.5 GD&TKnowledge of structural, thermal, and fluid-dynamics analysisStrong communication, teamwork, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills
