Engineer II, Mechanical Engineering

This position is part of ASM’s Global Hardware Platform team and supports the development of equipment for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The engineer creates CAD models and drawings, performs structural, thermal, and fluid analyses, and uses design-for-excellence practices to improve product performance and manufacturability. The role involves close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, suppliers, and other engineering groups, including resolving fabrication issues and maintaining product data in PLM systems. It also requires hands-on work in laboratory and cleanroom settings and participation in design reviews and testing. The position suits a mechanical engineer with semiconductor or equipment-development interests, strong design and analysis skills, and the ability to lead projects and support less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or higher2+ years of 3D CAD mechanical design experience, preferably CreoExperience with FEA and CFD tools such as Ansys or ComsolKnowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and fabrication methodsAbility to work in laboratory and cleanroom environmentsSemiconductor or capital equipment experience preferred
