Principal HWIL Electrical Engineer

This engineer works in Raytheon’s Hardware-in-the-Loop organization, creating and deploying sophisticated simulation and test systems that support missile software development and qualification. Responsibilities span schematics, circuit design, cabling, interface adapters, production and engineering test equipment, and integration from circuit card assemblies through complete systems. The role also involves diagnosing complex technical issues, coordinating cost and schedule commitments, and sometimes leading broad engineering teams or proposal efforts. It suits an experienced electrical engineer who is comfortable with laboratory instrumentation, design tools, hardware/software troubleshooting, and secure defense programs. The position is fully onsite in Tucson and requires U.S. citizenship plus the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of professional electrical engineering design experience including circuit design, troubleshooting, and test environmentsProficiency with design tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Creo Schematic, or Xilinx VivadoAdvanced hands-on experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power metersActive or obtainable DoD Secret security clearance with U.S. citizenshipSTEM degree and demonstrated expertise in schematic capture and system-level electrical designLeadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and budget responsibility
