Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer

This engineer will support Intel’s Facilities Operations organization by managing the performance, reliability, and maintenance strategy for systems such as chilled water, boilers, exhaust abatement, and clean room equipment. The work includes diagnosing complex mechanical issues, developing project scopes, reviewing designs, testing solutions, and coordinating implementation with operations and internal customers. The position also involves creating replacement and capacity plans that support facility expansions, renovations, redundancy, and sustainability goals. Success requires close collaboration with maintenance contractors while maintaining safety, environmental, and operational standards. It is well suited to an experienced mechanical engineer with a background in large-scale facilities, manufacturing, clean rooms, or other complex industrial environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a relevant master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ yearsExperience designing, analyzing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systemsKnowledge of HVAC, environmental exhaust compliance systems, or mechanical process equipmentExperience using engineering tools for system evaluation and design documentationUnderstanding of facilities-related safety and environmental regulationsStrong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
