Principal Real-time Software Engineer

This engineer will architect, implement, test, debug, and deploy embedded real-time software within complex systems that combine hardware and firmware. Working in an agile Integrated Product Team, the position partners with product owners, chief engineers, and other specialists to deliver reliable, secure, and mission-ready avionics capabilities. The engineer will also contribute to design reviews, proposals, quality improvements, and the development of junior staff through mentoring and technical leadership. The position suits an experienced embedded software professional who has worked with C++, real-time operating systems, hardware/software integration, and safety- or reliability-critical products. It is an onsite role in Raytheon’s Effectors Center in Tucson and requires U.S. citizenship plus the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance and program access.

Requirements

STEM degree and at least 8 years of relevant experienceExperience with at least two of embedded C++, embedded software security, or software architectureExperience with embedded real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, Green Hills, or LinuxBackground integrating hardware, firmware, and software in complex systemsAbility to obtain an interim U.S. government Secret security clearance and program accessU.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
