Specialist II, Technical Training

The Specialist II, Technical Training position is based in ASM's Phoenix Global Training Center and focuses on preparing field engineers and technicians to effectively maintain and support complex semiconductor equipment worldwide. Rather than troubleshooting equipment for individual customers, you'll leverage technical expertise to develop training programs, deliver classroom and hands-on instruction, and mentor technicians at various experience levels. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams to keep training materials current with new technologies and procedures, evaluating learner progress, and maintaining training systems and documentation. This position suits individuals from diverse technical backgrounds—including semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment—who are energized by problem-solving but equally passionate about teaching others and building technical capability across a global workforce. The night shift schedule operates on an alternating compressed work week (36 and 48 hour weeks), with optional travel opportunities available but not required.

Requirements

Technical degree, bachelor's degree, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience3+ years of hands-on experience with complex technical equipment or systemsAbility to work night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) on alternating compressed work week scheduleStrong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematicsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience delivering technical training, coaching others, or developing training content (valued but not required)
