Power Applications Engineer

This engineer will design and evaluate 48V/54V and 400V/800V power-delivery systems, with emphasis on power-tree performance, distribution efficiency, and integrated protection. The position belongs at the intersection of onsemi’s product, systems, design, marketing, and customer organizations, translating platform needs into effective power solutions. Responsibilities include creating reference designs and evaluation hardware, building validation and modeling infrastructure, and optimizing protection strategies. The engineer will also participate in customer design reviews, system bring-up, debugging, and benchmarking while producing application notes, whitepapers, schematics, and simulation models. It suits an electrical engineer with power-electronics experience, strong system-level judgment, modeling skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical customers.

Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldExperience with high-power or high-voltage systems, preferably 48/54V or 400/800VKnowledge of eFuse, Hot-Swap, power-switching, or power-tree architecturesExperience with SPICE, SIMPLIS, MATLAB, or comparable modeling toolsStrong customer-facing communication and troubleshooting skills
