Intel reported that manufacturing equipment installation is underway at its Fab 62 plant on the Ocotillo campus near Phoenix, with mass production targeted for late 2028 (or early 2028 in some reports).

Neighboring Fab 52 is already running.

The update also noted progress at the delayed Ohio site (first major roof truss installed).

This is a concrete step on a long-delayed U.S. expansion amid stronger AI/data-center demand signals.

Tool install is one of the most expensive and final steps before a fab can produce. It signals Intel is advancing domestic capacity for advanced nodes even under a more cautious capital-spending approach.
