This online WRRC Water Webinar examines how advances in chip design, packaging, optics, and artificial intelligence can reduce both energy use and water demand in data centers. It is intended for people interested in sustainable computing, water conservation, data-center infrastructure, and conditions in arid regions. David Ebert of the University of Arizona will explain the relationship between computing efficiency, heat management, and watershed impacts, and discuss how arid environments and the university’s interdisciplinary expertise can support more sustainable facilities. The session takes place on September 8, 2026, from noon to 1:15 p.m. MST.
