Critical Environment Program Manager

This position supports Microsoft’s data center operations function by managing the performance and upkeep of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The manager schedules preventive and corrective work, uses maintenance management systems, assigns technician activities, monitors quality, and responds to operational escalations. They also lead infrastructure projects, compliance reviews, vulnerability remediation, efficiency initiatives, and efforts to reduce regional single points of failure. Success requires close partnership with customers, operations leaders, technicians, and peer teams, along with a strong focus on safety, security, and change leadership. The role suits an experienced data center or physical IT infrastructure professional who can combine technical judgment with team coordination, mentoring, and program execution.

Experience with critical environment systems or physical IT infrastructureExperience coordinating maintenance, technicians, projects, or data center operationsKnowledge of systems such as UPS, generators, air handling units, servers, networking, or structured cablingAbility to manage audits, compliance activities, vulnerabilities, and operational reportingHigh school qualification with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a related degree with 8+ years of experienceStrong communication, leadership, safety, and incident-escalation skills
