This engineer will join the Launch Systems System Safety Engineering team and help ensure complex space systems are safe to manufacture, test, integrate, and operate. Responsibilities include developing and verifying safety requirements, analyzing launch vehicle and ground support system risks, reviewing designs and procedures, and preparing safety documentation for customers and operational ranges. The position also involves working with internal teams, customers, launch integration personnel, and external partners, including participation in audits, operational support, and accident investigations. It suits a systems or safety engineer with experience in launch vehicles or comparable aerospace systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently on high-consequence programs. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 5+ years related experience (or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year)Experience with launch vehicles or similar system design, testing, or mission operationsKnowledge of systems engineering discipline applied to system safetyFamiliarity with RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, and MIL-STD-882 standardsCurrent U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret Security ClearanceStrong independent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts
