Systems Safety Engineer - Level 4

This engineer will join the System Safety Engineering team in the Launch Systems business unit and apply systems engineering methods across launch vehicles, payloads, ground equipment, and range infrastructure. Responsibilities include defining safety criteria, evaluating designs and procedures, verifying requirements, preparing safety documentation, and supporting integration, testing, and launch operations. The position also involves explaining safety approaches to customers, participating in mission working groups, and assisting with accident investigations and corrective actions. It suits an experienced systems or safety engineer who can work independently, communicate complex technical issues clearly, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with aerospace or defense safety standards and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are important for success.

Requirements
