This leadership role heads a small team of safety engineers focused on ensuring complex launch vehicle systems and ground support equipment are safe to manufacture, test, and operate. The team defines safety requirements, conducts hazard analyses, and works across design, testing, integration, and operations phases to meet customer and internal safety objectives. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external customers to communicate safety architectures, analyze designs against regulatory standards, and support mission success while managing safety risks. This position suits experienced systems engineers with launch vehicle background who excel at technical leadership, cross-functional communication, and independent problem-solving in a high-stakes aerospace environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years related experience (or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year)Experience with launch vehicle or similar system design, testing, or mission operationsKnowledge of systems engineering discipline and its application to system safetyKnowledge of RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, and MIL-STD-882 standardsCurrent U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Security ClearancePreferred: 2+ years leading small teams and MBSE experience in CAMEO
