Land Acquisition Manager

This role supports Microsoft’s regional land acquisition function by assessing markets, identifying suitable sites, and moving transactions from initial discussions through closing. The manager will work with brokers, landowners, developers, public agencies, and internal groups such as engineering, legal, finance, energy, and community affairs. Key responsibilities include negotiating LOIs, PSAs, utility arrangements, and power infrastructure agreements while addressing zoning, entitlement, regulatory, and legal risks. The position also establishes portfolio metrics to monitor pipeline strength, transaction progress, and exposure. It is well suited to an experienced real estate or site-selection leader who can influence diverse stakeholders, resolve complex issues, and build a strong regional team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, project management, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experienceExperience in site selection, market analysis, and location strategyKnowledge of entitlement processes and regulatory risk mitigationIndustrial land acquisition experience, including LOI and PSA negotiationsExperience negotiating utility, energy, or power infrastructure agreementsAbility to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and resolve complex deal challenges
