Machinist 3

This position supports production of medium-caliber weapon system components by operating CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, and related machining equipment. The machinist performs operations such as turning, milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, forming, deburring, and part rework while adjusting machine settings to achieve required quality. Work is completed from engineering drawings, planning documents, sketches, and verbal direction, with inspections performed using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and visual checks. The role is part of a collaborative manufacturing team and contributes ideas that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support lean practices. It suits an experienced CNC machinist who can work with limited supervision, maintain a safe and orderly workspace, and meet precise aerospace and defense production standards.
