Chief Engineer - Level 6

This position holds overall technical responsibility for assigned target vehicles throughout their development, production, integration, testing, flight, and post-flight phases. The engineer leads teams spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, integration, and test while balancing technical performance with cost and schedule goals. Key responsibilities include managing the technical baseline, directing configuration and risk boards, resolving supplier or component issues, and presenting program status and investigations to customers and senior leaders. The role also supports launch-site operations, readiness reviews, flight testing, and analysis of post-flight results. It suits an experienced systems or multidisciplinary engineering leader who can work independently, communicate with government and industry stakeholders, and guide complex defense programs under an active security clearance.
