This engineer will lead modeling, simulation, and algorithm development for electro-optical and infrared seeker systems within the Launch Vehicles organization in Chandler, Arizona. The work includes building closed-loop six-degree-of-freedom simulations, representing sensors and flight environments, evaluating performance, and correlating predictions with laboratory, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight-test results. The position requires close coordination with guidance, navigation and control, systems, software, firmware, and hardware teams throughout development and verification. The successful candidate will guide technical teams, communicate results to stakeholders, improve engineering and configuration practices, and mentor less-experienced engineers. It suits an experienced EO/IR, signal-processing, or optical-simulation professional with strong C/C++, MATLAB or Python skills, HPC experience, and an active Secret clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience, or equivalent advanced-degree experienceActive, current DoD Secret clearance within scopeExpertise in EO/IR image and signal-processing algorithmsExperience leading EO/IR or seeker modeling and simulation effortsProficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB or Python, preferably in Linux/HPC environmentsKnowledge of optical-system simulation, scene generation, radiometry, and sensor performance analysis
