Reliability Engineer, Control Systems, NA

This engineer helps verify that control systems in new and modified facilities meet design expectations and operate reliably through commissioning and acceptance testing. They develop maintenance and upgrade strategies, protect data and communications integrity, assess operational risks, and lead root-cause investigations when failures occur. The position provides hands-on technical guidance to site teams, including troubleshooting support, operating procedures, and training on building management and control systems. It also translates operational findings into recommendations for future facility designs and maintenance practices. The role suits an experienced controls professional familiar with data center environments, PLCs, HMIs, industrial communications, and electrical and mechanical systems who can work independently and collaborate across disciplines. The position is hybrid, based near a major U.S. airport, and involves approximately 25% travel within the United States and Canada with possible international travel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferredAt least 5 years of data center operations or related experiencePLC programming experience with Rockwell Automation, Carel, and GE systemsExperience with Ignition HMI softwareKnowledge of Modbus, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP communicationsAbility to interpret electrical and mechanical one-line diagrams
