EDA Tools Software Engineer

This engineer will develop, validate, and maintain software tools and automated workflows used by hardware design and foundry teams. The work includes translating engineering needs into requirements, implementing functional and test code, and supporting reliable build, deployment, and verification processes. The position sits within Intel Foundry’s technology and manufacturing organization and contributes to tools that improve semiconductor product performance, power, area, and cost. It is well suited to an experienced electrical or software engineer with strong semiconductor knowledge, EDA expertise, and scripting ability. Candidates with experience in physical verification, cross-industry technical initiatives, or AI/ML applications for analog layout and geometric or graph-based problems may be especially competitive.

Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experienceDeep knowledge of semiconductor device physics, process technology, and design rulesExpertise in EM, IR drop, ESD concepts and reliability verification toolsProficiency in scripting languages such as SKILL, Python, PERL, or TCLExperience with physical verification flows (LVS and DRC)Understanding of PPAC optimization and cross-functional collaboration
