As an EDA Tools Software Engineer on Intel's Design Technology Platform team, you will design, develop, and debug software tools that help design teams innovate faster while meeting manufacturing requirements. The role spans software development, process technology, and semiconductor design, requiring you to automate workflows, collaborate with process developers and external EDA vendors, and validate tools through comprehensive testing. You'll work with cross-functional teams to define technology specifications, troubleshoot performance issues, and translate physical design challenges into software solutions. This position suits engineers with strong backgrounds in semiconductor process technology, scripting automation, and EDA tools who can think creatively, communicate complex concepts clearly, and influence stakeholders across internal and external organizations.

Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years experience, or Ph.D. with 5+ years3+ years scripting with Python, Tcl, or Perl for automation/testing on Unix/Linux platforms3+ years experience with EDA tools (Calibre, ICV, Pegasus) and rule deck development (SVRF/TVF, PXL, PVL)5+ years in semiconductor device physics, process technology, design rules, or translating design challenges into software solutionsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with ability to work across teamsCreative, self-motivated engineer with attention to detail and leadership capability
