This engineer will lead a small system safety team supporting the design, integration, testing, and operation of launch vehicles and related ground systems. Responsibilities include developing safety requirements, performing hazard and system analyses, reviewing facilities and procedures, and producing documentation for customers and operational ranges. The position also involves audits, accident investigations, launch-site support, and communication with internal and external stakeholders about safety compliance and mission readiness. It suits an experienced systems or safety engineer who can work independently, explain complex technical issues clearly, and guide others through safety-focused engineering decisions. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, meet the applicable engineering experience level, and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a STEM field with experience appropriate to Level 3 or 4U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceExperience with launch vehicle or comparable system design, testing, or mission operationsKnowledge of systems engineering methods applied to system safetyKnowledge of RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, and MIL-STD-882Ability to lead teams and communicate complex safety topics to customers and partners
