Senior Thin Films Engineer

This engineer will lead thin film process development and manufacturing optimization across technologies such as CVD, ALD, PVD, epitaxy, thermal or plasma deposition, and related treatment processes. As part of Intel’s Manufacturing Development and Customer Engineering organization, the role connects Technology Development with high-volume manufacturing and supports technology transfer across multiple products and nodes. The engineer will solve complex fab problems, guide suppliers and internal partners, and coordinate with integration, device, yield, quality, and reliability teams. Success requires translating technical data and customer objectives into practical process improvements and presenting recommendations to audiences ranging from engineers to executives. The position suits an experienced semiconductor professional with strong thin film expertise, cross-functional leadership skills, and a background in process development, fab operations, and manufacturing scale-up.

Requirements

Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or STEM field with 5+ years semiconductor thin film deposition experienceProven expertise with Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and equipment supplier partnerships (AMAT, LAM, ASM, TEL)Strong track record in yield improvement, defectivity reduction, and process optimization across multiple technology nodesDemonstrated technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration and communication skills for diverse audiencesExperience with fab startup operations and comprehensive understanding of semiconductor manufacturing strategiesPreferred: PhD with patents/publications in thin film technologies or foundry environment experience
