Sr. AI Software Engineer - Agent Harness

This role focuses on building the foundational harness system for Intel's hybrid AI agent platform, where you'll architect and implement the agent loop, tool integrations, context management, and execution scheduling that make AI models functionally autonomous. You'll work on core product engineering for a framework designed to run both locally on edge devices and in the cloud, optimizing for privacy, cost, and sustainability. The team operates as pure engineers building the agent infrastructure while partnering with SRE specialists for production deployment. This position suits experienced software engineers who are curious about how frontier AI systems actually work under the hood and want to tackle complex problems around context-window economics, multi-agent orchestration, and tool-call reliability.

Requirements

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related STEM field8+ years of professional software development experienceStrong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or C++Deep expertise in async programming, concurrency, and process/subprocess managementExperience building systems that call external tools or APIs in loops with robust failure handlingAbility to quickly understand and work with unfamiliar codebases and runtime environments
