This role serves as the principal systems engineer and technical authority for a defense systems program within RTX's Systems Engineering and Test Center organization. You will own the development and maintenance of system-level requirements specifications while leading verification and qualification testing activities to ensure all requirements are properly validated. The position requires close collaboration with hardware teams, software engineers, chief engineers, and customer stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. This role suits experienced systems engineers with aerospace or defense backgrounds who can command technical respect, mentor junior engineers, and drive accountability for complex system integration and performance across multiple engineering disciplines.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with minimum 8 years of relevant systems engineering experienceExperience in systems software, firmware, hardware, requirements, integration, or test disciplinesDemonstrated expertise in test planning, requirements verification, and system qualificationActive Top Secret security clearance prior to start date and U.S. citizenshipStrong leadership and mentoring capabilities with customer collaboration skillsPreferred experience with Defense industry, Agile methods, DOORS/Cameo tools, or EVMS certification
