This Principal Systems Engineer position sits within RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Center in Tucson and supports defense effectors development. The engineer owns the maintenance and evaluation of requirements while leading verification, qualification, and systems review activities. The role works closely with integrated product teams, hardware engineers, chief engineers, customers, and other technical specialists throughout the systems engineering lifecycle. It also includes mentoring newer engineers and becoming the program’s primary source of systems engineering expertise. This opportunity suits an experienced defense or aerospace systems engineer with strong requirements, integration, and test capabilities who can collaborate effectively in a fully onsite environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with minimum 8 years of relevant systems engineering experienceExperience in systems software, firmware, hardware, requirements, integration, or test disciplinesDemonstrated expertise in test planning, requirements verification, and system qualificationActive Top Secret security clearance prior to start date and U.S. citizenshipStrong leadership and mentoring capabilities with customer collaboration skillsPreferred experience with Defense industry, Agile methods, DOORS/Cameo tools, or EVMS certification
