Unified Communications Integration Engineer, Public Safety

This engineer will help operate and expand a highly available real-time communications platform used in emergency response. Responsibilities include configuring UC and PBX solutions, integrating VoIP services, creating technical documentation, onboarding customers, and supporting operational teams through training and troubleshooting. The position involves close collaboration with Operations, R&D, Sales, product leadership, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable deployments. It suits an experienced communications or infrastructure engineer with strong VoIP, networking, Linux, and cloud deployment skills who is motivated by public safety technology. The role is hybrid in Phoenix, with an expectation of four office days each week.

Requirements

3+ years hands-on experience deploying open-source VoIP solutions like Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, or AsteriskProven VoIP architecture knowledge with expertise in SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and related protocols3+ years networking experience with strong OSI model understanding and cloud deployment skills (AWS)Solid Linux administration capabilities including bash scriptingUnderstanding of audio/video codecs, encryption, and transport mechanismsExperience with public safety or emergency communications systems preferred
