Principal Real-time Software Engineer

This position sits in Raytheon’s Effectors Center and contributes to software for complex defense systems that combine processors, firmware, electronics, and embedded operating systems. The engineer will guide the full software lifecycle, from architecture and design through integration, verification, troubleshooting, and deployment, while helping define measurable product quality. Responsibilities also include collaborating with product owners, chief engineers, and other technical disciplines, supporting design reviews and proposals, and mentoring less experienced engineers. Requirements

Minimum 8 years relevant embedded software experience with STEM degreeProficiency in at least two areas: Embedded C++, Embedded Software Security, or Software Architecture DesignExperience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks, Integrity, Green Hills, or LinuxDemonstrated experience integrating hardware, firmware, and software in complex systemsActive and transferable Secret security clearance required at start; ability to obtain program accessUS citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
