Principal Real-time Software Engineer
This position sits in Raytheon’s Effectors Center and contributes to software for complex defense systems that combine processors, firmware, electronics, and embedded operating systems. The engineer will guide the full software lifecycle, from architecture and design through integration, verification, troubleshooting, and deployment, while helping define measurable product quality. Responsibilities also include collaborating with product owners, chief engineers, and other technical disciplines, supporting design reviews and proposals, and mentoring less experienced engineers. It suits a senior embedded software professional who is comfortable with time-critical systems, hardware/software integration, and reliable operation in demanding environments. The role is onsite in Tucson, Arizona and requires an active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship eligibility.
