Principal Mechanical Engineer

This engineer will lead a small to mid-sized team developing and qualifying mechanical hardware for defense and aerospace programs. Responsibilities span system and subsystem design, technical data package coordination, procurement, production ramp-up, failure investigations, and communication with program leadership, suppliers, factories, and government customers. The position may also include Cost Account Manager duties, including material and labor budget oversight and earned value activities. It is suited to an experienced mechanical engineer who can work independently, mentor others, influence across organizations, and support complex hardware from concept through production. The job is primarily onsite in Tucson and requires an active U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years experienceMinimum 5 years of mechanical product design, integration, and production supportActive U.S. government security clearance required; U.S. citizenship mandatorySupplier engagement and factory development/production ramp-up experienceProficiency with CAD design toolsLeadership ability to manage teams and work independently under limited supervision
