Principal System Safety Engineer
This engineer will establish and manage MIL-STD-882E-compliant system and software safety efforts from early design through testing, production, field use, and disposal. They will integrate safety work into program schedules and budgets, evaluate design changes and technical artifacts, and coordinate hazard mitigation across systems, software, hardware, human factors, and test teams. The position also involves leading safety working groups, briefing review boards, managing suppliers, escalating risks, and mentoring less experienced engineers. It suits a seasoned aerospace or defense safety professional who can translate military standards into practical compliance strategies and guide complex programs. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required, with the ability to support special access programs in an onsite Tucson environment.
